The Transitional Style
Nestled in north bangalore, this is a 3000 sq. ft 4 bedroom and 4 bath spacious apartment with a picturesque landscape view. The client had bought two numbers of 2 bed units and intended to make one large unit. We stripped down the common wall between the two apartments and also made a few structural modifications thus opening up the entire floor plan. The design intent was to bring together pieces from various design styles and create ambience that updates the classic era with a cohesive modern feel. A mix of wooden flooring for all bedrooms and porcelain tiles for the living space was an intentional choice to define the décor style. The plush wall papers and bespoke millwork was used to give the home office a modern look. Both the daughter’s rooms are decorated in different but premium furnishings. One with high-end lacquered finishes on the cabinetry to achieve the Victorian vibe, the other room done in an off-white colour scheme with mild rich texture for a Scandinavian feel. The living room is all about the balance of design styles and elements brought together by classic lines juxtaposed with hues and furnishings that are more modern in spirit.
